The initial concepts
The project began with a scheduled condition survey during a routine maintenance shutdown. Our team conducted a General Visual Inspection and Ultrasonic Testing of the cooling duct interior. Rope access allowed safe entry into the confined space, eliminating the need for scaffolding and reducing risk.
Execution and delivery
The inspection confirmed significant erosion in the lower duct section. During the following shutdown, our rope access welders cut and removed the eroded sections before installing and welding new plates. All works were completed safely, on time, and with full protective measures, maximising client productivity and cost efficiency.

Captured in these images is the process of inspecting and repairing a heavily eroded cooling duct. Our technicians used rope access and confined space entry to conduct ultrasonic testing, identify areas of concern, and safely execute repairs. The project demonstrates IA Solutions’ ability to deliver safe and efficient solutions in high-risk industrial environments.
